CANDIDATE?
If you have indentations in your skin, depressed scars, or deep wrinkles.
If there are grooves, folds or areas of soft tissue depression.
INTENDED RESULT
Minimize facial and other skin wrinkles and depressions.
PROCEDURE
DESCRIPTION
FAT TRANSFER: The patient ’s own fat is collected (suctioned) from a distant donor area
and reinjected into the defect area.
Fat transfer may require sedation plus local anesthesia if larger amounts of fat are to be
collected. Small amounts of fat can be collected and transferred under local anesthesia.
RECUPERATION AND
HEALING
Postoperative pain is usually minimal. The most common postoperative issue is swelling
and some bruising. This is highly variable based on individual healing characteristics.
Swelling could last as long as two weeks.
OTHER OPTIONS
Additional procedures that could enhance the result Fat Transfers are other facial cosmetic
procedures such as Face Lift, Eyelid Lift, Rhinoplasty, etc.
INSURANCE GUIDELINES
This procedure is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The
patient is responsible for payment.
NOTE
The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be
determined only at the time of consultation. All procedures have some degree of risk.
Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major
complications are unusual.
