Enhance and Beautify Your Figure
Breast augmentation is a wonderful way for a woman to enhance her appearance through a safe and reliable procedure. Nearly 300,000 women per year choose to cosmetically enhance their breasts in the United States alone, and recent advances in surgical technology have made the procedure comfortable, affordable, and popular. Dr. Wire performs breast augmentation surgery for Minneapolis area patients at his Chaska cosmetic surgery center.
Almost any woman is a candidate for breast augmentation, provided she is healthy. There are two approaches to the procedure, and Dr. Wire carefully considers each patient’s desires and physical features to determine the best outcome for every patient. Breast augmentation is performed by placing an implant below the breast tissue, either above or below the pectoralis muscle. Dr. Wire offers detailed explanations of each method during a complimentary informational consultation. No question is left unanswered, and we hope you will leave our office confident in your decision to make this life-enhancing change. The two methods of placing breast include:
Subpectoral breast augmentation, which is done by placing implants below the pectoralis muscle. It is best for women who have slight builds, or are very thin, or women who have very little breast tissue, because it allows the added layer of muscle to better cover the implant. This ultimately makes the implant less visible and more natural to the touch, and results in a more desirable shape of the breast.
Subglandular breast augmentation, which is done by placing implants above the pectoralis muscle. This approach is recommended for women who have adequate amounts of breast tissue, which allows for coverage of the implant.
An advantage of subglandular breast augmentation is that it does not require general anesthesia, and therefore poses fewer risks than the subpectoral procedure. The recovery period that follows a subglandular breast augmentation is shorter than that which follows a subpectoral procedure, and patients typically experience minimal discomfort because they have not undergone invasive surgery. Not only is the subglandular approach safer and more comfortable for a patient, it is also more affordable because it may be performed in our office.
Dr. Wire determines each patient’s suitability for subglandular breast augmentation during a personalized consultation and breast examination. He takes into account the physical condition, size, and body type of each patient, as well as her desired implant size, before deciding on the best approach.
If you desire a more voluptuous figure, or more symmetrical or proportional breasts, an augmentation is an excellent solution. It is important to know the facts of any cosmetic surgery before deciding whether it is right for your needs. Dr. Wire wants each patient to feel good about her appearance, and he leaves no question unanswered.
We offer special financing options for the procedure. For additional information, read more about breast augmentation frequently asked questions, or contact our Chaska cosmetic surgery center today to schedule a consultation.
